Bill Henrickson seems like a typical suburban husband and father, except for the fact that he has three wives, nine kids and three homes to maintain. The Salt Lake City polygamist has to juggle his families' needs while overseeing his casino business, fulfilling his political interests and attempting to reconnect with his fundamentalist relatives.

Michelle Dean Bitch Media The writers largely abandoned Bill to his delusions of prophetic wisdom. And they turned to the women, which saved the show. Dec 30, 2020 Full Review Nancy Banks-Smith Guardian Big Love is funny, creepy and beautifully done. Feb 27, 2020 Full Review Troy Patterson Slate Big Love works as well as it does, which is fairly well, because it's thoughtful and playful, and it approaches its sensational subject with restraint. Dec 10, 2018 Full Review S. Jhoanna Robledo Common Sense Media Though Big Love is highly entertaining -- and compelling to watch given its stellar cast -- the show does disappoint. Rated: 3/5 Dec 11, 2018 Full Review Bill Gibron PopMatters A terrific foundation for the exploration of faith in "everyday life." Not just religious belief, but the bonds between relatives and relations. Dec 10, 2018 Full Review Brian Zoromski IGN Movies Unless you're a diehard fan of the actors involved, or a closet polygamist yourself, you'll likely have a hard time caring about any of the characters or what happens to them next. Rated: 5.5/10 Dec 10, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Y C I watched all five seasons. I was interested in the representation of a multiwomen relationship with a religious element and this is certainly how it started. How it developed was into a series about rival polygamous exotic bird dealers engaging in turf wars in Mexico. As you can imagine this is not what I had anticipated. It seems amazing to me that such a rich premise with the potential to explore the faith and feelings of its protagonists devolved into the silliest and shallowest of plots.
