Bob, a middle-aged compression sock businessman from Detroit, unexpectedly falls for his cardiac nurse while recovering from a heart attack and sets his sights on winning her over. Undaunted by Abishola's lack of initial interest or the vast differences in their backgrounds -- she's originally from Nigeria -- Bob is determined to win Abishola's heart in this comedic examination of immigrant life in America. From award-winning creator, executive producer and writer Chuck Lorre.

Audience Member Very funny show. Great cast. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I can't even stand to have it on in the background any longer. The stereotypes are bad. What exactly does Chuck Lorre have on CBS to allow them to keep renewing! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This show has all the elements I look for in a TV comedy. There are endearing characters, a good and believable story line, and growth in and through the relationships. I like that it shines a light on interracial dating in a light but truthful fashion, exhibits a sophisticated understanding of cultural misunderstandings and divergences. The experience of the son of an immigrant family is amazingly recognizable and more similar than I expected to my experience as a daughter of an older pair of immigrant parents. I'm not as thrilled with the characters of Bob's siblings..they are less deftly drawn than Bob, Abishola, his mom, her aunt and uncle and the others in their emotional space. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Now that the setup of Season One is over, I'm finding I'm enjoying Season Two even more. The show is just so sweet, but with some good edgy humor. I'm happy that they are fleshing out the supporting characters more. Kofo and Goodwin show that family is the same everywhere. I've warmed up to Babatunde and Oluwatoyin. My husband seems to find Babatunde especially hilarious; I think it may be because they are two peas in a pod. I do find Dorothy hard to take, but I understand why her character is the way she is. I'm still having problems warming up to Bob's siblings. Bob Hearts Abishola is one of only two sit-coms I watch now. I can't take any of the rest. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
