This British drama, from Bryan Elsley, the creator of teen drama "Skins," explores first dates between people who met through an online dating service. While each romantic encounter comes with its own set of intricacies, issues and thrills, also present is the danger of modern dating, and sometimes, calamities and people who don't tell the truth. The cast, which changes from one episode to the next, includes Oona Chaplin ("Game of Thrones"), Andrew Scott ("Sherlock"), Ben Chaplin ("The Thin Red Line") and Katie McGrath ("Dracula").

Judy Berman Flavorwire ... the show's dialogue and direction, which give the episodes the elegant (if low-budget) feel of short films, are solid enough to support stronger storylines. Sep 21, 2017 Full Review Caroline Framke AV Club Despite trying to be something fresh, something that taps into the world of modern dating and how we represent ourselves online, the end result is far too stale. Rated: C- Jul 9, 2015 Full Review Tirdad Derakhshani Philadelphia Inquirer The premise presents tantalizing possibilities, a fact not lost on Elsley and his cowriters, who ensure that the dialogue-heavy episodes move at a smooth pace. Jul 9, 2015 Full Review Joyce Slaton Common Sense Media Online daters meet for the first time in witty Brit series. Rated: 4/5 Jul 21, 2015 Full Review Ed Bark Uncle Barky For adults of a certain age -- let's say mid-30s and upward -- Dates might well have considerable appeal. Hey, all they have to do is find it. Rated: B- Jul 7, 2015 Full Review Tom Conroy Media Life Even though, as is often the case in real life, the second Dates is a bit of a letdown from the first, this series is worth swiping right and clicking "like."
