Caroline Siede Girl Culture (Substack) If season one was about falling in love, season two is about being in a new relationship – with all the love, trust, jealousy, support, chemistry, codependence, and over-the-top giddiness that entails. Nov 26, 2023 Full Review Alasdair Wilkins AV Club I'm not absolutely sure that "Army Of Ghosts"/"Doomsday" is the best of the five Russell T. Davies-penned finales, but it's definitely the one that is most solid in its construction. Jun 15, 2018 Full Review Ross Ruediger Slant Magazine Doctor Who Season Two (or Season 28, depending on your anal-retentiveness) has been a string of entertaining highs and lows, in terms of both quality and intensity. Dec 2, 2013 Full Review Mark Braxton Radio Times This two-part finale ends Season 2 with a breathtaking epic that is nevertheless intensely personal. Rated: 5/5 May 7, 2019 Full Review Sharon Eberson Pittsburgh Post-Gazette BBC execs thought they could update the series, take a giant leap in production values and regenerate ratings, and they were right. Mar 25, 2019 Full Review Alexander Joenks Pajiba David Tennant excels as the Doctor, bringing a wholly different characterization than Christopher Eccleston. Fan O This is a slight step down from season 1, it lands regardless of it's flaws but they can be grating at times. There are a number of episodes that will never be anyone's favorites, but are enjoyable just the same, and there's only one I'd skip on a rewatch. This season truly highlights how alien the doctor's lifespan and history make him compared to humans, and the drama it makes is brilliant. Not my favorite season, but certainly a worthwhile one. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/20/25 Full Review James M Good but not great as there is a few bad episodes but the rest are great and make up for the series as a whole. David Tennant steals the role as the doctor and proves why he is the one of the best and so loved as the doctor. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/13/25 Full Review ben s The season with the most ups and downs, some of the best episodes in new who and then you have love and monsters... But Tennant and piper do amazing, the writing was some of the best. I just recommend skipping love and monsters and fear her, mabye idiots lantern. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/05/24 Full Review Justin B A better second season which has more confidence and takes more risks. Tennant steps into a role he was born to play and Piper continues to be impressive as Rose. As before, season 2 suffers from the inconsistencies of season 1 but it hangs together much better. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/21/24 Full Review Daniel R How can you not fall in love with both the doctor and Rose in their acting roles? It just tool all the momentum of season 1, and doubled the interest. Good writing, good acting, and the FX for a tv show set new standards. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/14/24 Full Review i wanna w Loved Eccleston, but Tennant took it to a whole new level - phenominal TV well worth the watch - almost impossible to not binge watch this series Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/15/24 Full Review Read all reviews
