Audience Member How the hell did they Manage the Same Helen Mirren 🤣😂🤣 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Episode 5 is so on point. They are fantastic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Documentary Now is probably even sharper for this second season, with incredibly on-point parodies of documentaries such as Stop Making Sense and Salesmen. Just like last season, the series does an indelible job of blurring homage with satire, and conjuring up humor of the most wry. Closing with a two-parter that parodies The Kid Stay in the Picture, the show gives it all here, while also suggesting the best is yet to come! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review pierre c This is one of the funniest shows ever made. The parodies are under-stated and dead on. Absolutely brilliant. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Specifically Juan Likes Rice and Chicken and Final Transmission headline season 2. I feel like it may not have been as consistent as season 1, but the peaks were higher in the 2 episodes mentioned IMO. If you love the mockumentary format, and that Best in Show feel, this is the closest I've seen to it since those movies. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member "Juan Likes Rice and Chicken" is probably the best thing available on television. Liz Shannon Miller indieWire The lack of point of view revealed by "The Bunker" speaks to why the show has never been able to find real depth within the surface beauty of its production. It's a show to admire. It's too bad it doesn't really have much to say. Feb 21, 2019 Full Review Craig D. Lindsey Village Voice Yes, Documentary Now! gives Armisen and Hader the chance to play the same oddballs they used to play on SNL, but in a more extended, nuanced manner. Oct 17, 2016 Full Review David Sims The Atlantic The show's stars, Fred Armisen and Bill Hader, elevate every episode with their performances, but it's a comedy that wrings laughs mostly with its rigorous attention to detail. Sep 16, 2016 Full Review Max Barnhart Film School Rejects Bill Hader and Fred Armisen topped the last season of Documentary Now! in the only way they knew how: they found a documentary to parody that is even more salient than those before. Feb 21, 2019 Full Review Sarah Winshall Under the Radar Season Two isn't purely a high concept exercise in direct imitation, there will also be plenty of LOLs. Rated: 8.5/10 Sep 28, 2016 Full Review Christine N. Ziemba Paste Magazine Documentary Now! continues to surprise and entertain from week to week with such varied episodes, with some leaning toward slapstick and others more subdued.
