Ray Barone is a successful sports writer and family man who deals with a brother and parents -- who happen to live across the street. Mom Marie loves to meddle in his life, while older brother Robert sometimes resents his success, and Dad Frank just makes comments and raids the fridge. Nevertheless, Ray manages to keep a bright outlook and a sense of humor, leaving the hard issues to his more-practical wife, Debra.

Audience Member I actually think the 9th season had better episodes than season 8. Perhaps the writers hit a dry streak after 7 seasons of brilliance. As a huge fan who has every season on DVD I enjoy watching the Barone clan as if they're a family I wish I were a part of. Overbearing father, dominant mother, crazy daughter in law, pampered prince of a son, a neglected son, and so many opportunities for clashing in the life of a Long Island family.
