      Critics Consensus

Though Fargo's ambitious fourth season struggles to maintain momentum, fine performances and a change of scenery make for an engaging -- if uneven -- departure from the series' norm.

Sam B I felt like the subtle humor that makes Fargo so entertaining was mostly absent from this season. I did enjoy Chris Rock’s performance and character. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/23/24 Full Review cédric f People seem to hate this season but I found it really good. Not really a Fargo season, but the writing is good. It's really interesting and well, the cast is fine ! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/24 Full Review Matthew S Season 4 is the only season of Fargo that isn't worth watching. Chris Rock is not a believable bad guy and really cheapens the show. The other seasons shine, and luckily the writers got their act together for the next season so look forward to that instead and skip this one. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Kim F It was so painful, so pointless, I cant believe I made myself get to the end incase it concluded with something worthwhile. I kept thinking it would all tie in but it didn't in any meaningful or significant way, it really was just every character died, the end. On the plus side the sets and outfits were really cool. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/24 Full Review Tesseract O Awful, just a travesty. A waste of good actors (made to look like human cartoons) and non-actors (required to play parts they are obviously not qualified for). Such a shame after 3 outstandingly great, gripping seasons. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/08/24 Full Review Xochitl C I liked it but I had trouble with Chris rock playing a mobster, his acting was awful and not believable. I like the actor but this was not a part he should have played, but the story was good, the first three were way better! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Geordie Gray The Australian This gives you ample time to delve into the other seasons, should you have neglected to have done so... Nov 6, 2023 Full Review Hugo Rifkind Times (UK) The first half of this opening episode was just tremendous, although I did feel the second drifted a bit. May 17, 2021 Full Review Rebecca Nicholson Guardian Given that Fargo has always stood out, it is strange that it seems to be settling for blending in.
