Optimistic teacher Will Schuester heads up McKinley High School's glee club -- New Directions -- a place where ambitious and talented students can find strength, acceptance and their voice. As the students find themselves, they also enjoy a respite from the harsh realities of life. Mr. Schuester hopes to help the kids in every way he can, and also dreams of taking the group to nationals. As Schuester and the glee club pursue their goal, they face opposition from a conniving cheerleading coach, Sue Sylvester, who tries to sabotage the group at every turn.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

The band plays on in a truncated final season that is a little daffier and overstuffed than where Glee began, but some disciplined storytelling and sweetly rendered character arcs harmonizes one grande finale that will hearten the New Directions' faithful.

Louis Peitzman BuzzFeed News Those who have stuck around are witnessing something genuinely transgressive for major network primetime television. It'd be challenging to think of another network series that has celebrated the beauty of difference better. Mar 1, 2019 Full Review Brittany Spanos Rolling Stone Like its characters, Glee became a star only to fall back down. Then, when no one was looking, it slowly but surely found itself again, never having stopped believing that it could. Mar 1, 2019 Full Review Lauren Hoffman New York Magazine/Vulture With all of its disasters and missteps, all of its triumphs and showstoppers, Glee was ultimately, and above all else, something special. I am so very glad that I -- that we -- could be a part of it. Rated: 4/5 Mar 1, 2019 Full Review Jo Berry Digital Spy A show that can boast moments of genius, memorable performances, great (and sometimes so-bad-they're-good) songs, impressive voices, and fun scripts among its achievements. Mar 1, 2019 Full Review Lanford Beard People Magazine Considering how wildly uneven Glee has been for, well, most of its run, the ending turned out to be pretty darn near pitch-perfect. Mar 1, 2019 Full Review Kevin Fallon The Daily Beast You can't look at TV as it exists now and not see the influence of this slushie-soaked teen dramedy about a band of singing misfits. Glee was never perfect. At times it was even bad. But it accomplished something. Mar 1, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Klber A Depois que focaram na Rachel, acabaram com a série! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/18/23 Full Review Jonathan Q Our heartbreaking, sweetheart and epic series finale. A honey farewell for our beloved Glee family. I'm on board, always and forever!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Bingewatcher Fanatic Ok ok. This season is not good but it was a improvement from season 5 the biggest issue with this season is that it felt rushed and the new characters are annoying asf they make me miss the old cast from season 4 Marley and Jake them. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/15/22 Full Review Audience Member Sue's storyline was nonsensical but entertaining. The new cast has so much potential but was wasted because this season was shorter. 6 years of making us hate and love these characters was a journey unlike any other. A very good finale. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Without a doubt there were turns this season. Short and with a lot of content, it was something fast that really left the fans with a taste that it could have had a full season if it followed that path. It's not that memorable, but it delivered a worthy ending to such a great series. It seems like it's a karma for Ryan Murphy to only do a good series until season 3. Impeccable ending, much missed by Melissa but still amazing. Thanks for those years, the cast made me very happy and I will never be able to forget this series. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This was the point where the show ran out of ideas and turned to convoluted insanity. The stuff with sue Sylvester was some of the most nonsensical television I've seen, like how she constructed an entire elevator from nowhere that she used as a saw like trap to try and force Klaine back together after showing zero interest in them previously. Or the fact she had an entire 'hurt locker' of glee memorabilia that was unbelievable in every possible way. And no I would not like to talk about the bratty and flamboyant 12 year old that joined a high school glee club because sue had a crush on his dad, who mistook Her for a man. This season is a complete mess with some half decent musical numbers and 3 episodes with some decent content: the last 2 episodes and the 7th episode. Go watch those 3 and spare yourself from the confused, convoluted, incoherent, overly preachy at times, overstuffed and chaotic final season of a show that didn't fall from greatness with this season, it crashed and burned. The music saves it from being half a star though. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
