Earl has taken one too many wrong turns on the highway of life as a bully and a low-rent crook, but he wins a lottery and has an epiphany: He will turn his good fortune into a life-changing event, as he sets out to right all the wrongs from his past. Despite his seemingly limited intelligence, he is oddly effective -- and has a voice and style all his own. Read More Read Less

Noel Murray New York Times As wacky as this sitcom can get, it's always rooted in the heartwarming idea that in the long run it pays to be nice. Oct 3, 2018 Full Review Phelim O'Neill Guardian My Name Is Earl was an oddly good-natured show about thieves, hookers, bullies, depressives, idiots, thugs and losers and it made them all, if not always lovable, then at least funny. Oct 3, 2018 Full Review Jason Bailey DVDTalk.com Season four is the series' most consistently entertaining and funny since season one, and while not every episode is a home run, it remains goofy, enjoyable fun. Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 2, 2018 Full Review Jonah Krakow IGN Movies Whether it was that it lost its ability to blend humor with emotionally charged stories or that it started to rely too heavily on silliness instead of well-written jokes, it's a shame that such a promising show ended without much fanfare. Jay S Ok, Whoever decided to cancel My Name is Earl...AND LEAVE IT ON A CLIFFHANGER is a rotten terrible person...THAT SHOW WAS WONDERFUL AND THAT PERSON TOOK IT FROM US AND IN THE WORST WAY POSSIBLE!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/05/23 Full Review StephenPaul C The least funny final 27 episodes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/24/23 Full Review Phill c Whoever canceled this show is an idiot! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/15/22 Full Review Audience Member Such a shame this show was cancelled, this season sets up something very interesting that can never be explored Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Gilgamesh can go to hell, coz Earl J. Hickey is done with his list and getting real with Karma. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Earl Hickey's karmic journey comes to an end in Season 4 of My Name is Earl. With prison and his third failed marriage behind him Earl gets back to his list, but he soon inadvertently outs Darrell – forcing Witness Protection to relocate Darrell and Joy, and Earl has to try to get them back. Among other things, Earl makes up for stealing an RV, breaking up Randy and his boyhood crush, ruining an astronaut suit, and wrecking a bookmobile. Yet try as it might, the show just can't get back to the wit and humor of the first season. The comedy is still overly cartoonish and most of the characters have been turned into goofy caricatures with no resemblance to real people. However, there are a number of funny sketches and the low-brow jokes work to a degree. Additionally, the list of guest stars is quite impressive and features Seth Green, Jerry Van Dyke, David Arquette, Jenna Elfman, Jason Priestley, Jane Seymour, and Danny Glover. Season 4 of My Name Is Earl is the weakest of the series and is more concerned with telling wacky stories than good ones (leading NBC to cancel it).
