Daniel Fienberg The Hollywood Reporter The show’s draw is the rapport between various members of the Wayans clan — a tangible collaborative spirit that keeps Poppa’s House from ever feeling generic, however generic its trappings are on the page. Oct 23, 2024 Full Review Aramide Tinubu Variety While “Poppa’s House” is a bit rocky initially, the cast has chemistry in spades. Oct 22, 2024 Full Review Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times The Wayanses are having an evident good time working together, as underscored by the bloopers that run under the closing credits. Oct 18, 2024 Full Review Joly Herman Common Sense Media Immensely watchable, this delightful sitcom harnesses the physical comedy and smarts of two members of a beloved comic family. Nov 4, 2024 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Poppa’s House works because both Wayans Sr. and Jr. lean into what makes each of them funny, and are great together. The more standard sitcommy parts will get better the longer the show stays on the air. Oct 28, 2024 Full Review Dave Nemetz TV Line Poppa’s House clearly exists to get Wayans and Wayans Jr., both gifted comedians in their own right, on screen together… but it has to bend over backwards to justify why these two characters would be sharing a scene Oct 18, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

M C The show is fun to watch now and then but the humor can be a little much. Gets annoying 😑 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/25 Full Review Noel M This show not only lacks originality, but Damon Wayans Jr seems like he's over-reaching to be funny. The storylines are bland, unintentionally boring, and far too saturated with sorry improviations. What this show needs is more realistice humor. This far-fetched spoiled rich kid attitude is lame and sorry. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/25 Full Review Anita L Poppa’s House has the potential to be excellent. Just get rid of the two young leading actresses. They overact. They’re not funny and their voices are grating. I love the rest of the cast. I actually make the effort to fast forward through scenes with either of these women, but it’s getting tiresome for me to have to edit this show. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/25 Full Review Jane T I watched the first episode and it was okay. However, I just watched Wig = S1 • Ep8 and cracked up. Although, I thought Damon Wayans Sr looked really good with that wig. He's a handsome man, but that hairpiece really brought out a very nice look on him. If he wanted my opinion, I would tell him to actually go for it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/20/24 Full Review Audience Member A Fresh, Heartwarming Comedy with Depth and Laughs Poppa’s House is the perfect blend of humor, heart, and relatability that keeps audiences coming back for more. From its well-written characters to its sharp comedic timing, this show is a breath of fresh air in today’s TV landscape. We need shows like Poppa’s House—ones that bring joy, warmth, and a sense of connection in a world where that’s so often missing. A second season would not only continue to entertain but also give us more time to fall in love with these characters and their stories. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/18/24 Full Review Ryan G First couple of episodes I was not impressed. But as I continued to watch, the characters grew on me. The father-son duo definitely has chemistry. And it looks like they're having fun shooting the show. As seen in the bloopers at the end of each episode. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/04/24 Full Review Read all reviews
