Shawn Spencer happens to possess some uncanny powers of observation thanks to his father, Henry, a former police officer who taught his son to remember even the smallest details of his surroundings. When Shawn is accused of committing a crime that he actually solved, he convinces the cops that he's a psychic -- and with the reluctant help of best friend Gus, Shawn starts solving cases for a skeptical but increasingly impressed police force.

Maureen Ryan Chicago Tribune Psych is the most amiable and goofy of detective shows, thankfully. Apr 9, 2018 Full Review Sandrine Sahakians TV Equals The premiere episode, "The Ghost in You," turned out to be my favorite episode. I absolutely loved it. Feb 14, 2020 Full Review Jason Thompson Bullz-Eye.com Season Three might just be the best so far, which is saying something considering the first two seasons were also knockouts. Rated: 5/5 Feb 14, 2020 Full Review Erin Dougherty CinemaBlend Any show that ends with a chase around the office and also involves a couples' only skate at an old roller derby rink is like heaven in a cute little box with fabulous people living inside. Nov 12, 2018 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba It's flitty, funny, and steeped in pop-culture allusions, without ever getting too cute about it. Apr 23, 2018 Full Review Jonah Krakow IGN Movies Aside from a few sub-par episodes and the fact that Shawn's relationship with his mom left a lot to be desired, the most frustrating thing this season was the "will they or won't they" game between Shawn and Detective Juliet O'Hara. Brayden M Each season of Psych is equally as entertaining as the one prior. The amount of pop culture references and comedic aspects makes rewatchability endless. James Roday Rodrigues and Dule Hill make a great duo and each episode with Woody is 10x as enjoyable. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/23/25 Full Review David W I've loved each series of this. It's been consistently hilarious, superbly plotted and with a fantastic cast of lovable characters all played beautifully by the superb cast. Brilliant. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/25 Full Review Brian G Just go back and watch from season one, you will see why 5 stars Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/29/24 Full Review Jim F I'm finding it hard to get through season 3. The characters are getting more whacky and cartoony and less human. To the point that I'm skipping episodes half way through because they are just stupid and annoying. Also I know exactly what detective Laciter is gonna say every time he shows up on screen (same with several other characters). And every episode has basically the exact same plot. Super boring pointless flashback to childhood > Father criticizes Shaun for anything and everything > Murder happens > Laciter hates Shaun for no reason > Chief tells Shaun to solve murder > etc etc etc. I liked the first season but I feel like the writers just got lazy. Honestly I'm also just sick of listening to the condescending rants from Laciter and Shaun's father. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/28/24 Full Review Donald T Psych at its peak; in particular the season finale. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Jane P You won't find a funnier show that's always fresh and original despite so many seasons and movies. Gus and Shawn have so much chemistry which makes it that much better, the whole cast do. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
