The unscripted "Small Town Security" follows the workplace drama of a small, family-run security and private investigation company in rural Georgia called JJK Security. While the day-to-day operations are depicted, the heartbeat of the series is found in the oddball behavior of JJK's colorful employees, led by the hilarious and inappropriate Joan Koplan, otherwise called "The Chief." There's also Joan's old-school, charming husband, Irwin; straight-laced detective and process server Brian Taylor; flighty office secretary Christa Stephens; and "The Lieutenant," Dennis Croft, who Joan reveals in the premiere episode used to be a woman. No wonder AMC describes the show as "a cross between Christopher Guest's brilliant films and the sublime absurdity of `The Office.' ".
