Featuring a bigger and better USS Enterprise, this series is set 78 years after the original series -- in the 24th century. Instead of Capt. James Kirk, a less volatile and more mature Capt. Jean-Luc Picard heads the crew of various humans and alien creatures in their adventures in space -- the final frontier.

Calum Marsh Slant Magazine Gravity is an odd virtue to find in a series about deep space, but then little about Star Trek: The Next Generation ever seemed ordinary. Rated: 5/5 Oct 3, 2017 Full Review Zack Handlen AV Club TNG is finally worth of the Star Trek mantle; I'd say this was overall at least as good as TOS' first season, and maybe even as good as its second. Rated: A- Oct 2, 2017 Full Review Peter Canavese Groucho Reviews As a whole, "The Best of Both Worlds" is as good as, if not better than, any of the feature films that would later star the Next Generation cast. Rated: 4/4 Jul 27, 2022 Full Review Kevin Carr 7M Pictures It's nice to watch that story in that manner, allowing the viewer to find a sense of closure on one of the greatest cliffhangers in television history. Rated: 4/5 Jan 25, 2019 Full Review Michael Simpson SciFiNow All of a sudden The Next Generation had found its feet. Rated: 5/5 Oct 2, 2017 Full Review W. Scott Poole PopMatters The Borg might feel like it assimilates this season, but the real pleasure for Trekkers will be some of the series most memorable, moving and thought-provoking stand-alone episodes. David K One of the best science fiction shows in the history of TV! My favorite heroes, my favorite series and my favorite franchise! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/10/24 Full Review James B TNG's third season ascends to new heights with the concluding cliffhanger "Best of Both Worlds" achieving cinematic scope and suspense. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/05/24 Full Review Audience Member What can I say that hasn't been said already. We have entered the peak of Star Trek, and IMO the peak of episodic television. It hurts to watch, knowing how badly Star Trek has been beaten and abused by the new writers these days. It's not even recognizable anymore. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/17/24 Full Review Kyle M Ah, now we're talking! This is the season in which Star Trek: The Next Generation really hits its stride. It survived a rough first two seasons, and has vastly improved. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/24 Full Review Michael H Star trek at its very best Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Oh wowsers are you going to keep doing these Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
