Noah's ark, the Exodus, and the life and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth are some of the best-known stories in the Bible. They're also some of the narratives that are retold in a miniseries, The Bible, that brings the accounts to life through a combination of live action and computer-generated animation. The program reveals new insights into many of the key biblical characters in the Old and New Testaments. Keith David narrates the series that stars actress Roma Downey (Touched by an Angel) -- who also serves as an executive producer along with her husband, Mark Burnett.

James F This is a fabulous, thoughtfully prepared update on the Bible for a new generation of viewers. The content is obviously, The Bible, but filmed and told in a much more modern way, one that holds the viewers attention throughout the series. If you are like me you remember growing up seeing movies like The 10 Commandments, King of Kings, and Jesus of Nazareth and while they are great in their own rights ... not bashing or taking anything away from them but they are very dated looking and they are a slow trek. They are types of movies that you can watch and then be set for a long time before you see it again. "The Bible" and A.D. (A continuation of "The Bible") are filmed with an updated style and more focus given to pacing and action. If you're a fan of the older classics then I think you're in for a real treat with this series and A.D. If you are a parent you may find your kids falling asleep during the older movies but these will keep both you and your little ones entertained while teaching them some basics. Try it and see!!! God Bless!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews
