This half-hour hybrid comedy/talk show hosted by Fred Savage is dedicated to exploring the fandom surrounding fictional sci-fi thriller "The Flare." The TV show is based on fictional author TJ Whitford's sci-fi book series "The Moon Is the Sun at Night," which has been a favorite of Savage's since childhood. The book revolves around a solar event and its effects on Earth, which slowly unfolds into a post-apocalyptic battle for human survival. The aftershow features multiple segments, including authentic sit-down celebrity interviews, set visits to "The Flare," interviews with the "cast," discussions with fans, and more.

Kelly Lawler USA Today It requires a lot of insider knowledge to fully enjoy, which makes you wonder how it got on the air, but it's a wild ride nonetheless. Jul 10, 2019 Full Review Melissa Camacho Common Sense Media Tepid aftershow spoof has violent scenes, innuendo. Rated: 3/5 Jul 17, 2019 Full Review Jacob Oller Paste Magazine An absurdly commercialized show that serves as the logical conclusion for fandom's bleak current trajectory. Jul 9, 2019 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba It's very dumb, but it's also kind of smart, but it's not yet smart enough to make up for how dumb it is, if that makes any sense. And if it doesn't, that's OK. Jul 3, 2019 Full Review Danielle Solzman The Young Folks In viewing the series premiere, What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage certainly shows potential. Rated: 4/5 Jul 1, 2019 Full Review Joel Keller Decider ...a fun Sunday diversion from the more serious stuff out there. Jul 1, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Clever show with the cast going ‘all in' with their roles! Some hella funny moments. I thought it was perfect Sunday night fare. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member People are so easily confused by new and interesting formats. This show is great. Fred Savage does a great job reinventing the talk show format. TV needs innovation or it gets stale. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Listen. If you love Fred Savage or you watch Talking Dead, watch this show on Hulu at least three times. Not all the bits work and it's so hot and cold (even within episodes) but the things that work are gold. I love it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Super sappy. Horrible laugh track. That shouldn't even be allowed in 2019. Can't believe how desperate Fred Savage seems to be to be engaged in this. Episode 6. It must have been pre-approved for at least this many. But if it's gone next week, I'll understand why. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member four words "it made no sense" Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
