Lev Spiro

Since the late 1990s, Lev L. Spiro has entertained audiences of all ages by directing a wide variety of television episodes, from the teen drama "Dawson's Creek" to the edgy Showtime comedy/drama "Weeds." With Bachelor's Degrees in Political Science and Communication Arts, Spiro earned his Master's Degree in Film Production from the University of Texas and directed his first short film "The Convict," a mystery based on the short story by James Lee Burke. After a brief foray into softcore adult films like "Emmanuelle, Queen of the Galaxy" he discovered that his talents were better suited for the small screen. He directed individual episodes and pilots for television shows such as Disney's "The Jersey," The WB's "Gilmore Girls," and the teen drama "Popular," which won a GLAAD Media Award. Throughout the 2000s, Spiro attached his name to several of the decade's most memorable television series by directing episodes of shows like the short-lived cult classic "Arrested Development" and the surprise hit comedy "Ugly Betty." Two of his greatest successes came in the late 2000s with the sci-fi critical darling "Minutemen" and the widely popular "Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie," proving that Spiro's directing style was capable of holding the attention of children all over the world.
