Robert Koehler Variety An erratic and obvious fable on how girls and boys contend with hefty matters of war, education and the decent treatment of others. Feb 23, 2012 Full Review Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard It may be naively done, but it still packs a punch. Rated: 3/5 Jul 25, 2008 Full Review Anthony Quinn Independent (UK) As the brave moppet, Nikbakht Noruz is tremendous. Rated: 3/5 Jul 25, 2008 Full Review Carlos Marañón Cinemanía (Spain) Gives us hope. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 4.5/5 Nov 3, 2020 Full Review Georgie Hobbs Dazed and Confused Like Bjork's character, Selma, in Lars von Trier's Dancer In The Dark, Bakhtay is so heart-crushingly innocent that it rips your heart out to see her hurt. She, like Selma, is too clueless to help herself. Sep 26, 2016 Full Review Mike Edwards What Culture Stretching this to feature length was a sad detraction from a clever and emotionally effective story. Audience Member A barrage of feelings. Life is bigger than art. An absolutely riveting little film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I was impressed, considered it the best movie I saw during the film festival Ghent 2007 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Direção linda, sensível demais, num filme que fala da absurda realidade do oriente médio, através do olhar ingênuo e às vezes cruel das crianças. Um pequeno grande filme. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member What starts off as an intriguing little story is marred by a feeling of disbelief in the lack of any adult responsibility or intervention, for example in some of the symbolically overblown "Taliban" scenes and especially in the school setting. A strong central performance and some haunting images reminiscent of Elem Klimovs WW2 epic "Go and See" still make it a worthwhile movie, though. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Perjuangan seorang anak perempuan demi mengikuti pembelajaran di sekolah. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Excelente film... digno ganador del premio horizontes en San Sebastian...
