2001, Argentina: A hot and steamy summer, just a few months after the outbreak of violence which led to a profound social and economic crisis in the country. Natalia, Mariela and Josefina are three, inseparable friends who live on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. Having just finished their final year of high school, they all fall madly in love with Diego, a lifelong friend. Natalia has always had the most chemistry with him, but just when it seems inevitable that their friendship will turn into something more, Silvia appears on the scene. Older and more experienced in every sense, she soon captures Diego’s attention. Our protagonist suddenly finds herself having to deal with heartbreak, rejection and the fear of losing everything. With the help of her grandma, Rita, Natalia decides to call on dark incantations and curses to jinx Diego and Silvia’s blossoming relationship. The spell doesn’t work, but it does lead to a new and unknown sensation inside Natalia. An unexplored, mysterious feeling that will lead her towards self-empowerment, sexual awakening and a drastic denouement.

Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 29, 2025 Full Review Carlos Esquives Cinencuentro The discovery of [Natalia's] sexuality, her friendships or family ties, as well as her expectations for the future, are flawed. And, obviously, there is no evidence of a mature voice to correct her. [Full review in Spanish] Jan 29, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews
