The world is divided into four nations -- the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation and and the Air Nomads -- each represented by a natural element for which the nation is named. Benders have the ability to control and manipulate the element from their nation. Only the Avatar is the master of all four elements. The ruthless Fire Nation wants to conquer the world but the only bender who has enough power, the Avatar, has disappeared ... until now. His tribe soon discovers that Aang is the long-lost Avatar. Now Katara and Sokka must safeguard Aang on his journey to master all four elements and save the world from the Fire Nation.

Melanie McFarland Salon.com A stalwart example of allegory's power to inform and inspire instead of merely offering escape. Jun 15, 2020 Full Review Susan Stewart New York Times [Season 3] doesn't skimp on the action, even as it excels at philosophizing. Oct 3, 2018 Full Review Hayden Childs AV Club After ramping the story up and drawing it back down so many times, Avatar: The Last Airbender manages to end its story with [hitting] all of the right notes. Jul 28, 2018 Full Review Princess Weekes The Mary Sue [In season 3,] Aang holds to his principles. That is heroic. Oct 3, 2018 Full Review Tory Ireland Mell IGN Movies I couldn't possibly fathom how perfect each character would pan out. Everyone had a voice; every creature had a purpose and meaning... This story moved and kept us moving right along with it from beginning to end. Adam M Avatar the last bender isn’t just a cinematic masterpiece, but something that is so intricately written, it is literally taught in some areas of the world, season 3 doesn’t fail to bring the action into the show, but along with the action, season 3 keeps its philosophical standards, which keeps the season subtle and balanced towards the end, the world building, the pacing, the plot, the writing, the message, the depth, the detail, makes it truly in my opinion, one of the biggest animated masterpieces to ever be produced Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/12/25 Full Review Martin C May the Muses that gave birth to this series carry it to fresh eyes and hearts deep into the future. When a work exceeds a certain threshold, words like masterpiece feel hollow. Yet it is a Master piece. It's a work that beacons to the Master in all of us. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/15/25 Full Review Audience Member I will keep it short since it’s bedtime…(just finished season 3). This show sets the standard for what a movie can and should be: not mere escapism but an enrichment and teacher to its audience, conveying good morals, virtues and lessons that must be experienced rather than explained. This is a show I will recommend to anyone regardless of age. (I’m 23….). It is hilarious, thought-provoking, superbly casted, meaningful, gripping and full of practical wisdom! Thank you! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/12/25 Full Review Abdulmohsen A Best show ever you must see Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/25 Full Review Dylan H I'm genuinely so sad that this show ended here because I felt like I really knew these characters. I don't think I have much to say that hasn't already been said, this shows final season is perfection. Prince Zuko became the best character in the show here and I think his development as a character really embodies this season in a nutshell. There is so much life advice, and philosophical messages that go over a kids head but not a 20-year-old college students' like myself. This show is amazing and I recommend it to anyone at any age! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/08/24 Full Review Ted C i've seen this show twice, and i know i'll watch it again :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/12/24 Full Review Read all reviews
