Bla M Simply amazing what BBC pulled off here! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/16/22 Full Review simonomis Great Christmas special, the emotions are real and the drama is tense! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/30/22 Full Review Audience Member Call the Midwife is one of the best shows on TV. Last years Holiday Special was worth watching a couple of times. I was anxious to see if this years Holiday Special would be as good. It was as good. It is a show on TV with great charaters that you find yourself really caring about. There are heartwarming and tear jerking scenes in every show. The Holiday Special was no exception. In the world of TV violence and vulgarity, this show is a pleasant relief from all of that. The wedding of Shelagh (one of the retired nuns) and Dr. Turner was a sweet and appropriate event. It is a world of friendships, work and support among the characters. All of this occurs while living in a very poor challenging neighborhood. Cheers to this show and the book it is based on called Call the Midwife by Jenny Worth. One last note. I am a nurse and for the most part have been impressed with the realistic scenes of births and medical procedures. Good job!
