Noel Murray Los Angeles Times Mostly, this is a whirlwind trip through the origins of a phenomenon, with an eye toward explaining how America could find these ladies at once sexy and wholesome. Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times The tone is unabashedly partial, yet the women are such entertaining company it's hard to mind. Nov 1, 2018 Full Review Owen Gleiberman Variety An engaging, once-over-lightly documentary that takes you back to the moment when women, in a public way, were throwing off the last shackles of having to behave themselves. Mar 24, 2018 Full Review Maitland McDonagh Film Journal International A truly engrossing film, one that balances the big picture and the small one. Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Matt Shiverdecker Austin American-Statesman This slickly edited documentary features stunning archival footage and new interviews with many key cheerleaders from 1972-1990, but the core revelations here come from Mitchell's interview footage. Audience Member Was very interesting and entertaining. Gave a unique perspective about the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders and their class act during those years. Great doc. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Was very interesting never knew how professional cheerleaders first started. Suzanne was a powerhouse in a mans world I can only imagine what she went through to take care of those girls the way she did. The Cowboy Cheerlearders must have really loved their team for doing practices and games at just $15.00 a game. Loved how they put the in celebrities bits with the great music all at the beginning and end. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member I was pleasantly surprised at how good this documentary was. It was a great history of the time, glory days of the Cowboys & cheerleaders too. Very entertaining! Loved all the interviews with past cheerleaders & Suzanne the director. Also, the local historians took me right back to the glory days. I highly recommend this documentary! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member At a time when women were struggling to be heard, this documentary gives the DCC their voice. The women on the squad were strong, intelligent and wore the uniform proudly in spite of the controversy surrounding them. For the first time you will hear how this journey changed their lives and formed the sisterhood that remains strong still today. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Whether you're a fan of cheerleading or a football fan who loves the "glory days" of the NFL...this is a must see! The movie tells the story of how the infamous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders came to be through the memories of the original Director, Suzanne Mitchell and many of the women that were part of this "new era" in the 70's. I loved seeing the old photos and videos of the DCC, Cowboys, coaches and Texas Stadium! You'll hear many behind the scene stories about gangsters, a wink and the woman who's life was threatened to protect her girls. See this movie, you won't be disappointed! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member This documentary is a must see! It will take you back to the empowering and pivotal time that was the beginning of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders phenomenon with their director, Suzanne Mitchell. Very well done!
