Burl Burlingame Honolulu Star-Advertiser A thoroughly charming, quirkily funny independent film with a standout performance that would never have been touched in a million years by a major studio. Rated: 3.5/4 Jul 5, 2011 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member With its unconventional humor, "Made in China" is a bit of a different movie that's not for everyone, however it satisfied my enjoyment. It makes use of its "novelty item theme" and its Shanghai setting. There's a clever twist and oh, that "domestic hygiene product" is quite hilarious. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member It was a cute movie, sort of naive but it really gives you a perspective of how little things can change the way we live, or the way we have fun, outstanding. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I wonder if I had an idea for an invention & needed somebody to make it for me, Would I go all the way to China to find somebody to make it & back me.I'm thinking probably not.I wouldn't give up until I found a backer in the US & then go through China if I had to.Made In China seemed to try & come off as a comedy but wasn't funny at all.It seemed more like a drama.Even though everything worked out in the end, I think this guy should've listened to his mother & kept it in his backyard Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Not funny, but an alright movie Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny and safe-recommeded! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I wanted to like it, really I did. It's got a good heart. It's just...horribly bland. Feels like an attempt at quirk by someone who can't quite grasp the emotional backdrop developed quirky characters require. The film wants to tap into the eccentric, but can only manage the cloying. Jackson Kuehn's performance was like watching a high school drama kid's Michael Cera impersonation. He sees the character as a shallow novelty without adding the dose of self-loathing needed to make the audience care. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
