Nina Metz Chicago Tribune Corruption and money laundering have long fueled the art world, and it’s fun to see a show put some of that intrigue center stage. Rated: 3/4 Jun 11, 2025 Full Review John Anderson Wall Street Journal “Art Detectives” really does feel like a work in progress. At the risk of lobbying for conformity, I would say the television detective needs a modus operandi of his or her own, a way of approaching a crime scene, a corpse, or a suspect. Jun 5, 2025 Full Review Joel Keller Decider While Art Detectives isn’t really doing anything revolutionary format-wise, Moyer’s charm and the art-centric themes to the crimes Palmer and Malik investigate does make this show stand out. Jun 12, 2025 Full Review Maggie Lovitt Collider Art Detectives is one of the best British mysteries on Acorn TV in recent years, and its only shortcoming is the fact that it is only six episodes long. Rated: 9/10 Jun 9, 2025 Full Review Lacy Baugher Paste Magazine The show’s unique art-and-history hook means many of us (read: me) will probably learn something while watching it, and Moyer’s performance is a lovely change of pace from a talented actor who’s been typecast as a result of True Blood for too long.
