Argentine producer, writer, and director Alejandro Aimetta was born in the city of Córdoba in 1986. His passion for imagery led him to pursue studies in photography and advertising at La Metro, School of Design and Audiovisual Communication. Aimetta has been based in Mexico City for over 10 years. It is there he immersed himself in the world of cinema, gaining knowledge in cinematography at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica. Additionally, he honed his directing skills under the guidance of Luis Mandoki and screenwriting experience alongside Guillermo Arriaga. During his time in Mexico, Aimetta showcased versatility in roles as writer, creative art director, and showrunner. Subsequently, he dedicated himself to the development of audiovisual content and the direction of series for television and digital platforms at the production company BTF Media. Over the past decade, Aimetta has directed a wide range of projects, particularly fiction series in Argentina, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Uruguay and others. Among his notable works are "Maradona, sueño bendito" (Amazon Prime Video, 2021), which won the award for Best Latin American Production at the Luces de Perú Awards. It also won Best Fiction Series at the Sur Awards and earned 10 nominations for the Cóndor Award. Aimetta stands out for "El secreto de Selena" (TNT, 2019), which earned him a nomination for Best Director at the Productv Awards; "El Cesar" (Space/ESPN, 2018), nominated for Best Dramatic Series at the MTV Movie & TV Awards; "Su nombre era Dolores" (Univisión/Tv Azteca, 2017), nominated for Best Series at the Platino Awards; and "Hasta que te conocí" (Disney Media/TNT/Telemundo, 2016), nominated for Best International Series at the Emmy International Awards. His most recent film "Mientras cupido no está" is scheduled for release in 2025. Aimetta's specialty is creating characters that demand significant physical transformations. Catapulting dozens into their first leading roles, it has been Aimetta's privilege to work with renowned actors and actresses, including Dolores Heredia, Vanesa Bauche, Juan Manuel Bernal, Héctor Bonilla, Armando Hernández, Cecilia Suarez, Damayanti Quintanar, Demian Bichir, Tea Falco, Ricardo Scamarcio and others.
