Lia Grant
Lia Grant may not have been a quickly recognizable name to secular audiences, but in the niche world of gospel, she was a superstar: a full-fledged one woman empire who sang, produced, wrote, and acted in all of her projects. Grant first gained notoriety on the stage, appearing in regional productions of plays such as "Get Thee Behind Me!", "Mama, I'm Sorry," "Real Men Pray," and "My Brother Marvin," which became popular amongst religious, black audiences. Grant made her film debut with "Gold Diggin': For Love of Money" (2008), before adapting her play "Get Thee Behind Me" (KJLA-TV, 2010-) into a TV series. Her next film was "Missionary Mothers Board" (2013). Grant first hit the radar of the secular crowd when she co-starred on the reality series "Your Husband Is Cheating On Us" (Bravo, 2018-), a look behind the rehearsal process of playwright, director, and Tyler Perry acolyte JD Lawrence's latest stage production.
