Richard Heus is a television producer and occasional director, known for his work on several acclaimed documentaries and for producing the ABC hit sitcom "Ugly Betty." After completing graduate school at Stanford and working on various documentaries for PBS affiliates, he started producing quality movies for television featuring young stars or actors on their way to stardom, including "A Conspiracy of Love" (with Drew Barrymore and Robert Young), "Jacob Have I Loved" (with Bridget Fonda), and "Darrow," starring Kevin Spacey as the legendary lawyer. In 1997, he served as executive producer on "The Fifties," a multi-part documentary which aired on the History Channel and was based on award-winning author David Halberstam's book. With "Early Edition," a CBS drama that began airing in 1996, he incorporated a weekly series into his list of credits, something he would continue to do over the years. Heus served as a producer on the ambitious science fiction mini-series "Taken," executive produced by Steven Spielberg, and won his first Emmy award for his work on the program. In the years since "Taken," he has gone on to produce a number of popular dramatic and comedic series, including the aforementioned "Ugly Betty" and "Body of Proof," starring Dana Delany.
