Audience Member Well thought and entertaining animated short mixed with CGI. Involving a chicken! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I saw this this and I loved this. I highly recommend this short film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Visually I loved the three animation styles of this Oscar nominated short. We begin in a New York city of the 1950s. We are shown establishing shots of the city framed by basic shapes. Things are drawn with crisp and clean, black lines. A man is walking down the sidewalk of a city block. He bumps into another pedestrian and as he approaches the corner a chicken comes strutting by. The chicken goes up a short flight of stairs and knocks on the door of an apartment building. The man stands there dumbfounded for a time. We jump to 2009 with a modern day version of New York in color. The same scene is repeated with slight variations. For instance the man now has a smartphone, which distracts him even from something as unusual as a chicken alone in the city. Zoom ahead to the 2050s and it all repeats again. This time we have a computer generated apocalyptic New York with three dimensions. The man is a zombie! Can the chicken make it to the safety of the usual apartment? The title is the goofy punchline at the end. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member The concept is great and pretty hilarious at times.
