B. Ruby Rich Jump Cut Malle fails to fulfill his promises, constantly opting for a cute portrait, a beautiful movement or - finally - a closing freeze frame to embody his message. Audience Member There are movies that exist as punchlines. For example, Andy Warhol's "Empire," an eight-hour shot of the Empire State Building. Well, here's another, Malle's 75-minute documentary of an automobile factory and sales floor with no narration. Mr. Rogers would have had a field day, Malle gives us nap time.
