It's a very vivid poetic movie which a lot of people may not like. Mohsen Makhmalbaf's masterpiece is about a 40 years old man on his birthday talking to his girlfriends trying to explain how he gathered the love of them all at the same time. the music is really touching , the scene of the sad city in winter , the car and the candles.. everything in this movie makes you feel sad and involved , and however enjoying! Here the philosophy is nothing more than some preaching monologues by a narcissist man who acts as if he is the embodiment of wisdom while they are evident at best and nonsense at worst. I admit there are some extremely beautiful pictures here but isn't a movie something more than a sequence of beautiful pictures?
