Audience Member As a film maker, Su Friedrich definitely thinks 'outside the box'. Here she crafts a documentary around the recollections of her German mother who came of age during the rise and fall of the Third Reich. This is no tribute, nor is it an indictment. It's a presentation of one woman's eye witness account of some of the darkest days in human history, set against the backdrop of Friedrich's peculiar visual style. Highly educational entertainment. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Su Friedrich is the bomb. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member basically a talking head interview with no talking head. Black and white images often unrelated to the narration. it was really cool, and sad. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Fascinating, but hasn't aged well. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Exquisite in every way. Something I keep with me like a warm gray sweater I won't ever give up. It is richly textured with grays and the haunting but warm rhythm of the speaker's voice. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie had potential, but fell through the cracks. To bad. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
