In this space spoof, Dave Lister (a chicken-soup-machine repairman) is a survivor of a radiation leak on his mining space ship. The problem is that he is the only survivor. But wait ... it gets better. Having come out of suspended animation 3,000,000 years later, Lister only has a holograph of his intolerable dead shipmate, the vain Cat (an evolvement of his former pet), old and senile ship's computer Holly (think HAL with memory loss) and robot Kryten.

David Hogan hoganreviews.co.uk Red Dwarf XII is full with thin plots stretched to near or actual breaking point with a few good gags here and there, but mostly they just fall flat. Not worth a re-watch when Series I-VI and even X exist, but thankfully nothing too offensive either. Audience Member Red Dwarf XII lacks backbone and creative comedy one liners but still manages to deliver some great laughs even if it is at the expense of some of the creativity and originality it managed to sustain after 30 years in its previous 2 series.
