This Academy Award-winning 1952 documentary takes the viewer into the majestic world of the sea, providing beautiful footage of a wide array of sea life from above and below the surface in their natural habitats. Narrated by Don Forbes, its images range from the beautiful -- tropical fish in the Great Barrier Reef -- to the dramatic -- a battle between an octopus and a shark. There is also an interesting look at wildlife-related jobs, such as crab farmer and shark walker.

Stephen C I hate this f**king sh*t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More like p***y around us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member A somewhat interesting look at sea life, with an obligatory preachy and childish nod to GOD in the end. No doubt a nod to the anti-communist scare of the day.. Another joke of a film from the unfortunate Oscar year of 1952. Irwin Allen would do better in sea water 20 years later with The Poseidon Adventure. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/20/22 Full Review Audience Member this underwater doc from irwin allen won the Oscar for best doc Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A nature documentary that preaches creationism?? I'll give it points for addressing climate change in 1952. That must have been what earned it the Oscar for Best Documentary back then. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
